Position Summary
This recruitment will be used to fill two (2) part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Event Setup Crew for the Alumni Association at Oregon State University (OSU).

The OSU Alumni Association has openings for a student positions on the alumni center team. This is a year-round position. This is a part-time student position working up to 20 hours per week at the CH2M Hill Alumni Center.

Student employees are an integral part of the day-to-day success of events and operations at the alumni center. Student employees execute event setups and perform basic maintenance, cleaning, A/V setup, technical support, and customer service. Flexibility, attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to work independently are required.

Position Duties
  • Customer service at the reception desk and with all clients and guests.
  • Executing event set up and clean up.
  • Setting up, testing and troubleshooting audio, video and multi-media equipment.
  • Moving, storage, and setup of equipment (tables, chairs, projectors, screens, microphones, speakers).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
  • Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
  • Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
    • High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
    • Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
    • Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term -
    • Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
    • Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term -

- International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered “full-time” by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
Additional Required Qualifications
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as lead a team
  • Ability to arrive on time and prepared for work
  • Experience with A/V setups and functionality helpful.
  • Physical ability to complete job tasks, includes lifting, moving and setting up furniture and equipment.

Working Conditions / Work Schedule
Student may work up to 20 hours per week during academic terms and up to 40 hours per week during breaks. The hours for this position range from early mornings to late nights, and include most major campus events such as football games, family weekend, commencement, etc. Weekend and evening availability is required.
