| Position Summary | This recruitment will be used to fill one (1) part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week during academic terms and a maximum of 40 hours per week during academic breaks) Story Architect (Editor) for the School of Writing Lit & Film at Oregon State University (OSU). The OSU Story Lab’s Content Studio (storylab.oregonstate.edu) is a dynamic new initiative dedicated to nonfiction documentary storytelling that explores the impact of science and research. We’re building a team of Story Lab Associates—student producers, artists, and storytellers—who will work alongside media professionals and who are passionate about transforming complex research into compelling narratives. From short-form social media content to feature-length documentaries and podcasts, our work brings the stories of science to life. We collaborate with researchers at Oregon State University and beyond to create innovative media that amplifies the reach and relevance of rigorous scientific work. Based in the School of Writing, Literature, and Film in the College of Liberal Arts, the Story Lab welcomes applications from undergraduate students from all majors. Ideal candidates have a strong grasp of narrative structure, experience with video or audio editing, and a deep curiosity about science communication. This role requires creativity, adaptability, and a collaborative spirit. Editor – Story Architect The Story Architect is a master editor who finds the big picture in a sea of footage. They shape sprawling content into tight, compelling narratives, balancing structure, pacing, and emotional impact. This role is all about turning raw material into story-driven gold.
